ABOUT THIS ARTIST

CAROLE BLEISTEIN ncs,isea
Carole Bleistein was born in Canada, raised in the United States and enjoys influences from both cultures. After studying Fashion Merchandising, illustration at a school in Canada, Art History at University of Washington, she returned to her first love, art. Two children did not slow her down adding study with many well known artists and special study in Chinese Brush painting. This laid the ground work to pursue art more seriously. She has been showing consistently for over 20 years and has been in over 300 exhibitions, winning awards, and earning three National signature honors.

To be an artist begins with a vision_ a creative operation requiring an effort. Creativity takes courage.”

        Henri Matisse

“ Every good artist paints what he is.”

        Jackson Pollock

“ The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the Place: From sky, from Earth. From a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web. “

        Pablo Picasso

“ Color possesses me. I don’t have to pursue it. It will possess me always. I know it. That is the meaning of this happy hour: color and I are one. I am a painter.

        Paul Klee

“ Every incentive to paint is as good as another. There is no poor subject.”

        Robert Rauschenberg

“ A critic is someone who meddles with something that is none of his business.”

        Paul Gauguin

“Success is dangerous. One begins to copy oneself and to copy oneself is more dangerous than to copy others. It leads to sterility.”

        Pablo Picasso

Studio companion
Parker is my constant companion and has a big influence on my mood when painting. He makes me laugh and have a good time while painting. Not always the easiest to collage with as he thinks he pulls paper apart better than me. Oh and sometimes he does. :)
